Tomorrow’s going to be a beautiful day

Tomorrow, the weather is predicted to be a beautiful day. Outside of
the produce, honey, muscadine juice, fried pies, baked goods, top
quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar, inexpensive home made jewelry,
home made soaps, lotions, deodorant, and chap stick, and a food vendor
selling delicious Italian meals will be sold. We, also, have a Vietnam
Veterans of America booth with information regarding the VA and other
veteran issues. On June 27th, we’ll have the annual Veteran’s
Recognition program starting at 12 noon. The event is scheduled to be
held outdoors. The Marine Corps League will serve as the color guard
and do the Iwo-Jima reenactment. We’ll have a guest speaker from the
Birmingham VAMC. A free meal will be offered to all veterans, city
employees, and those members of the market. This market is a Christian
outreach to the community; likewise, the church operates the North
Jefferson Food Bank as another outreach. There’ve been many people
seeking help and the shelves are almost bare, so the farmers market is
asking for assistance from the customers to donate the following
needed items: saltine crackers, instant grits & oatmeal, canned meat,
peanut butter & jelly, ketchup, mustard, mayo, complete pancake mix,
pasta, noodles & sauce, boxed powder milk, deluxe mac-n-cheese, mashed
potato packets, toilet paper (4 pk), instant white rice, soups
(chicken noodle, tomato, vegetable), applesauce (in jar), fruit cups,
chunky soups with meat, laundry & dish detergents, PB/cheese crackers,
spaghetti O’s/ravioli, toothpaste/deodorant, and single roll paper
towels. We’d appreciate all the help we can get. Please remember to
let our sponsors, America’s First Federal Credit Unit; Scott Cantrell
State Farm Insurance; and John Dealer TriGreen Equipment, know you’ve
seen this. Please come out and support our vendors and growers; see
you tomorrow.
