Last day for children’s story telling

The weather forecast is for possible severe storms, and we’ll be
monitoring the weather patterns all day. Like last week, if we have to
call off the market, I’ll do my best to post it. Assuming the weather
is good, the Gardendale Board of Ed will be sponsoring the Coke
trailer, giving out free soda and, also, giving out free Mayfield
popsicles. A person from the McWane Center will be doing children’s
activities, on the stage, at 1 PM. Lucy Siddiqui will be doing
children’s story reading at 3 PM; this will be the last reading for
the season because school opens next Thursday; likewise, the
inflatable will no longer be available after this week. America’s
First Credit Union will have their mobile ATM unit here. Doris Moody,
with the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation, will be
giving out literature and answering questions on this serious illness.
Jerry Carter, Carter’s Honey Bee Products, will be selling his local
Gardendale honey, bee’s wax candles, and lip gloss. Blueberries are no
longer in season. Our young entrepreneurs, Sister’s Go Bananas, will
not be selling their frozen chocolate covered bananas this week and
will here for the first two weeks in August. Next week, August 6th,
the first day of school, Bill Woodard will be attending sharpening
knives, mower blades, and other garden tools. As a reminder, we
usually see a drop in customer attendance once school opens , and
we’re going to be operating until September 24th We’d like to keep
your support.
